Cheer Up

Colorful Happiness

I am a happy person. I did go through a phase when I got depressed, but I can confidently say I am currently a happy person.

I know I have just talked about happiness in an earlier post -using a different approach to it though- but I do think I need to talk about it some more.

Happiness, in my opinion, is a choice. It is a decision you make. Actually, it is more of a thought you place in your head. If you are happy from the inside, then nothing will affect you. I know we all go through different circumstances, and that we sometimes cannot help but feel down. However, there is always a light following the darkness. Some people are willing to go all the way and reach for the light, while others give up and fall prey for the darkness. This is what differentiates one person from another. It just takes some optimism. Is it not worth a try? I really wonder how some people can be extremely pessimistic about everything! I mean, it only hurts the person him/herself who ends up isolating him/herself from the rest of the world.

The thing that gets to me is how some people are often depressed because of minor reasons. Personally, when I start to think of the endless blessings God has bestowed upon me including family and health for example, I immediately feel good about myself. I thank Gad and I am grateful to be alive. Some say none can achieve ultimate happiness, and this might be true. Yet achieving ultimate happiness is not the point; the point is to be content and in peace with your inner self. Once you get there, you will see life differently and have a whole brand new outlook.

I really hope my post cheers up anyone who is not feeling good today. Look forward for a better tomorrow. Being capable of feeling happy is a colorful gift from God, and so we might as well use it :)
